At BioHeuris, they have controlled chambers where they analyze plant growth.

It is crucial for them to measure ambient temperature, humidity, and lighting within each chamber.

They had a digital thermometer and were periodically recording atmospheric conditions. But they needed to integrate these readings into a web platform they already use.

That’s when the idea arose to develop an electronic device that collects the data and sends it to the server.

Once that was working, they saw the opportunity to add control functionality—linking alert responses to direct actions in the environment.

Recently, an SD card was added, so any data that can’t be sent to the server (due to server failure or lack of connectivity) gets logged and re-sent once the connection is restored.

To ensure that logged data aligns with the plant’s temporal growth, an RTC was added and is kept synchronized with the server’s time.
